Feng ShuiFeng shui is the ancient (and modern!) practice of arranging your surroundings to best promote the flow of natural energy, or chi, to put you in harmony with your environment and to help make your personal goals more achievable. There are many different types of feng shui being practiced today, however the strongest traditions of feng shui come from China. Here are some of the most well-know Chinese feng shui cures: Money FrogsThe money frog, or three-legged toad, is a popular symbol of financial and career success, traditionally believed to bring the owner wealth and prosperity. Most auspiciously placed by the cash register, work desk in the office, reception counters and other such spots where there is a lot of career activity. Baguas and MirrorsChinese protective mirrors are called Bagua, or Pa Kua. If there are any sharp corners or offensive structures pointed at your main door, hang this Bagua above your main door facing the source of the ‘shar qi’. Many people also have a Bagua to protect them from evil and harm. Do not, under any circumstances hang this Bagua inside your home. Wealth SymbolsChinese wealth symbols bring good fortune, career advancement and protection. Recommended for placement in your career or wealth corner, as well as in places of work or in the office. Chinese CoinsChinese coins, particularly those of the Kang Hsi or Qian Long Emperors' reign are deemed extremely auspicious. They each have a square hole in the center where the round circle symbolizes Heaven while the square represents the Earth. When used by humans, they represent the cosmic trinity of luck of "Heaven-Earth-Man". For more information, please see our feng shui book, our feng shui kit, and our dorm room feng shui book.
